[ Patent Attorneys of the EU-Member State providing services ]

On 18th May, 2017, the Law regulating the Activity of Patent Attorneys of the Member States of the European Union in Germany (EuPAG) entered into force. Individuals who are lawfully established in another Member State with a licence to practise the profession of patent attorney may temporarily and occasionally carry out the activities of a patent attorney in Germany subject to the provisions of EuPAG sections 13 ff.

Pursuant to EuPAG section 15, the Patent Attorney of the EU-Member State providing services is obliged to notify the Patentanwaltskammer before rendering services for the first time. The notification is made using the notification form below, with the necessary evidence. After all the documents have been submitted and examined, the Patentanwaltskammer enters the visiting European patent attorney, initially for one year, in the public electronic register of Patent Attorneys of the EU-Member State providing services.

The notification must in each case be repeated after the expiry of one year if the Patent Attorney of the EU-Member State providing services wishes to render services in Germany again in the following year.
