[ Admission ]
The entitlement to practise the profession.
Since 1st September, 2009, the Chamber of Patent Attorneys has taken the place of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office as the organisation responsible for the admission of patent attorneys and patent attorney limited liability companies and for registering members of the profession from states of the EEA and Switzerland.
In order to be able to work as a patent attorney, you need to have been admitted to the patent bar. Admission takes effect when you are handed an admission certificate issued by the Chamber of Patent Attorneys (Patentanwaltskammer). It entitles the holder to practise the profession using the title “Patentanwältin” and “Patentanwalt”, PAO section 18.
